I use photography as a means of self-expression. Sports photography captures the action and movement of athletes in their field of play. Being able to capture that split second of action and excitement, in my pictures is why I choose to shoot this genre of photography. My work consists of shooting from the first kick off of preseason to the final second of the Super Bowl; From the first pitch of spring training to the last out of the World Series; From the first tap off of the MLS to the final whistle of the World Cup; And of course from the tip off of preseason basketball to the last slam of the Finals. These moments are what I work so hard to capture and when captured there is nothing more exciting to my viewers or myself.

The next part of my work is very different, but at the same time can be just as eventful, exciting, and detailed. I often ask myself what the perfect picture is, and I often think to myself that perfect picture is a picture that fills the viewer with some sort of emotion. This side of my work incorporates wildlife and their natural habitats. No image can warm someone’s heart more than seeing a mama bear tend to her cub; a robin feeding her babies; or even a lion bringing food to her cubs. Each image should be viewed as a stepping-stone to the next. Therefore, while the moment attracts the attention of the viewer, my goal is to ultimately hold their attention.

The final part of my photography has to deal with the ins and outs of fashion. The fashion world continues to grow every day with new designs, new color ways, or the smallest detail. I feel that fashion is sometimes over looked in the photography world. People tend to say oh there’s another photographer for clothes. NO. Yes it has a big part about the clothes, however, what if the clothes aren’t there? What do you have now? You have a model that is posing for you without the clothes. My intent to capture fashion is not only to draw that viewer to see the clothing and the smallest stitch of that Gucci handbag or the pair of red Balenciaga sneakers, but to show how the model themselves bring their own creative visual to the scenes to make the product POP.
